Craigieburn Eagles Win in Tassie!

After a big win in Victoria on Friday night, the U16 2 girls headed off to Tasmania to take part in the Launceston Junior Basketball League Classic for 2007 held on the first weekend of the July holidays. The whole team, coaches and parents were up early Saturday to fly into Launceston. They played and won three games on Saturday, which put them on top of their pool and straight into the grand final on Sunday.
The girls were fired up and ready for action to take on the Grenadier Flames who finished 2(superscript: nd )with only the one loss coming into the final against the Craigieburn Eagles.
The girls played great team basketball, backing each other up all the way, which gave us a 6-point lead at half time. In the second half of the game, the girls started off extremely well in offence and were ruthless in defence. They crept further in front and came out with a great victory against a top Hobart side by an amazing 15pts. The girls finished the tournament undefeated and have done the Craigieburn Eagles proud. Congratulations to Tammy, Belinda and all the girls on a very exciting tournament.
After the tournament, the girls, coaches and parents headed off to Hobart for a Cadbury Chocolate Tour, Jet Boat Ride, Port Arthur Ghost Tour, and snow at Mount Wellington. They then returned to Melbourne for a well-earned rest, their premier medallions still around their necks!?. Memories like this will last a lifetime.
